4-H Events and Programs
New Family Orientation
Are you new to the Eau Claire County 4-H Program? Come to the Orientation meeting and learn about 4-H in Eau Claire County and how to get the most out of your experience. We will talk about how projects work, the relationship to the Eau Claire County Fair, and where to find information. We will also cover how to register for the Eau Claire County Fair.
Please register so that Rachel knows whether to hold it in person or via zoom.
Treasurer Training
Join us for a zoom Treasurer Training May 18 at 6:30PM via zoom. Club Leaders, youth treasurers, and treasurer parents, please make an effort to attend. This will help clubs be in a good place for filling out the annual report in July.
The training will cover financial management best practices, writing checks, supporting youth in the treasurer role to take on developmentally appropriate leadership, and preparing to fill out the Annual Financial Report.
If any youth would like to help present any of these topics, please connect with Rachel to plan your section.
Scholarship
The James E. Volbrecht Scholarship is in memorial to James Volbrecht who was a longtime supporter of 4-H and the Eau Claire County Fair. Jim graduated from CVTC with an Ag Mechanics degree in 1984 and he was named Outstanding Young Farmer in 1992. Tragically, Jim died in a farming accident in 2019. This scholarship is given in gratitude for his years of support of young people in Eau Clare County and will honor his memory.
This $300 scholarship will be awarded to an active Eau Claire County 4-H or regional FFA member involved in the Eau Claire County Fair (preference will be given to youth involved in the diary project) who plans to pursue post-secondary education.

Recycling at the Extension Office
Help the Eau Claire Clovers with a recycling project!
They are collecting film plastics such as grocery bags that will be turned into a bench (please see the list above). The goal is to get 83 lbs a month in order to make a bench in a year.
You can bring your plastic films to the Extension office and put them in the collection box.
